What Is The PAW Program?

InterTribal Entertainment was founded in 2000 by the late, legendary actor and musician Floyd Red Crow Westerman, who, while editing a documentary at SCIC's Los Angeles office, approached SCIC Executive Director Paula Starr and proposed the idea of having the organization offer multimedia training to American Indians interested in the entertainment industry.

Program Assistant Worker; PAW for short, is a program within SCIC's InterTribal Entertainment Department. The program is open to American Indians or Alaskan Natives who are unemployed, underemployed, or economically disadvantaged and between the ages of 18 to 24. Those enrolled in the program will learn about digital video production, including hands on experience with camera , sound, lighting, gripping, editing, script writing, producing, and all culminating in the production of a short project.
